Yesterday a rumor about Snapdragon 600 CPU on Samsung Galaxy S4 was leaked from Korean website. Today, Piper Jaffray analyst Gus Richard confirms this rumor on his note. Richard says that the launch date of the Galaxy S4 has been delayed due to power issues in the Exynos 5 Octa CPU and there's a chance that Samsung will use the Qualcomm CPU on their flagship phone.
“We believe Samsung’s Galaxy S4 has slipped and the Galaxy S3 has been in production a quarter longer than expected,” writes Richard. “We believe the S4 is being delayed primarily due to power issues with the company’s eight-core Exynos Octa […] we believe the company is likely to shift more to external sources. We believe QCOM will pick up more of Samsung’s S4 business.”
This isn't the first time that the Galaxy S4 appears with the Qualcomm CPU. We have seen leaked benchmark test of Samsung's device model number SCH-I545 with 1920 x 1080 display and also runs 1.9GHz Qualcomm CPU with Adreno 320 GPU. Even if the rumors are true and Samsung doesn't use the Exynos 5 Ocata on their flagship phone, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 still one of the best CPU in market with power efficient and integrated LTE chip.
