Samsung Galaxy S4 Might Use Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU Instead of Exynos 5

Snapdragon 600 CPU On Samsung Galaxy S4

The latest rumor about Samsung Galaxy S4 CPU just leaked from DT.co.kr. The Korean website claimed that Samsung will use Snapdragon 600 quad-core CPU instead of house brand Exynos 5 which has been rumored about overheating and power consumption issues. Another main reason for using Snapdragon's CPU is LTE capability. While Samsung will pay for extra parts for using the Exynos Octa CPU which is not LTE enabled, the Snapdragon 600 comes with built-in LTE compatibility that covers almost all of networks so Samsung will not have to pack separate LTE modems on the Samsung Galaxy S4.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 scored 12,000 points on Quadrant benchmark and has already clocked at 1.7 GHz in LG Optimus G Pro and latest flagship phone from HTC, the HTC One (aka HTC M7). This isn't the first time we have seen the Qualcomm's CPU. Few days ago a Nenamark 2 benchmark result of Samsung SCH-I545 which has been claimed as the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 also showed that device runs on 1.9 GHz Qualcomm CPU which is the maximum clock speed of Snapdragon 600 CPU.

However, there's a chance that Samsung will use their Exynos 5 CPU in the Galaxy S4 international version and use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 in the U.S.

No matter what CPU it uses, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will likely come with a 1.9 GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear-facing camera and run Android 4.2.2 out of the box. The next Samsung's flagship phone is also rumored to be introduced on March 14th at Unpack Event in New York and will be released to U.S. in May or June.
